Being A Child Of God Makes A Difference

I bear some resemblance to my parents and others in my family in some good ways and in some not-so-good ways. When we become children of God we are given some resemblance to our Heavenly parent and to His other children.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Matthew 5:14a Ye are the light of the world..

Before we became children of God we were the children of the Devil and bore a resemblance to him.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

If you have not ceased from some of the characteristics you shared with Satan and begun to share characteristics with God, you may not be saved at all.

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; (In the family of God) prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Psalms 17:15b I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.
