Esteem Other Better Than Self

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Some good news: we can have God’s help to esteem others better than self.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Pride is the cause of thinking too highly of ourselves.

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

If you are not esteeming others above yourself, I suggest you ask God to help you with that.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
