The people of Israel are God’s chosen people. He gave us most of the Bible through them. He gave us the Savior through them. They were to be different and separate from the world. They were to reflect the glory of God so that other peoples would be drawn to Him. Often they failed. We Christians are also His chosen people but in a different time and a different way. We are to be different and separate from the world. We are to reflect the glory of God so that people will be drawn to Him. Often we fail too. Even though we often fail in our mission God is forgiving and draws us back to Himself. Even though they failed God is forgiving and will draw Israel back to Himself. He has promised to restore them to a special place in His plans in the future. When He restores them He will also multiply His blessings to Gentiles.
It was God’s plan to give salvation to Gentiles in spite of and through the failure of the people of Israel. Their rejection of their Messiah, Jesus Christ will not be eternal. God is going to bring them back to Himself and bless all those who bless them.
Romans 11:11-15 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, (Abraham) and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
