Arguing With God 3

I believe this truth was written by Dr. Bob Cook. I could be wrong about that.

Matthew 22:29: Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

When people lose an argument with God there are a number of ways they might react. They might be amazed at his intelligence. They might even give up trying to get the upper hand with Him.

Mathew 22: 22: When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Matthew 22:46: And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.

There were actually three groups of people who tried to outsmart Him. The Pharisees and Herodians in verse 15. The Sadducees in verse 23. And the Pharisees again in verse 34. They all failed.

The first arguments they lost with Christ were over some comparatively unimportant issues. But the most important thing they were wrong about was Jesus Christ Himself. The thing that every cult will have in common with every other cult will be that they are wrong about Jesus Christ. Every true church will have the truth about Jesus Christ. He is the focal point. He is the necessity. He is the measure. He is the standard. He is the one upon whom every church and every individual will stand or fall.

Matthew 22:41-46: While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David. He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
