Matthew 10:40: He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
John 13:20: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
When unbelievers die they instantly see the Paradise they missed. They find out that they lost the argument they thought they had won. They find out that they have not fooled God, they have only deceived themselves. It happened to the rich man in Luke chapter 16. While he was in a place of torment he could see Lazarus in paradise.
Luke 16:23: And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
When believers die they see the judgment they were spared.
Psalms 91:8: Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Psalms 37:34: Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
There is a time in every lost person*s life when they have argued with God too long. He throws up his arms and gives them up. He knows they have resisted Him so long that they have hardened themselves beyond the possibility of ever giving in to Him.
Genesis 6:3: And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
