Philippians 3:12-13. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Some of the Power Bible definitions of apprehended: to take eagerly, seize, possess, obtain, perceive and overtake. The word apprehended often refers to what happens to criminals. We sinners are apprehended by Jesus Christ. He not only seizes, obtains and possesses us, He makes us new creatures.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
His (apprehended) new creatures are described as sons of God, (John 1:12) converted, (Acts 3:19) born again, (John 3:3) saved (Romans 10:13) and have passed from spiritual death unto life eternal.
1 John 3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
