Read Ephesians 6:10-17. Romans 1:16: I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation.
Perhaps you are the parent of a school-age child and are incensed by the propagation of secular humanism in the public schools. You should be! What is secular humanism? It is the world philosophy that says: You can better yourself by leaving out God…by substituting modern beliefs for rock-firm, Bible-based values…by supposing the universe began by some great “accident,” not by divine fiat…and by viewing yourself as a mere animal (made highly intelligent, of course, through millennia of evolution), having no need to be governed by One who is higher. God-denying and God-defying propaganda is being taught worldwide, polluting the minds of young people by the millions. We ought to get behind any movement that seeks to bring an awareness of God’s Word in the classroom. We ought also to let our dissenting voices be heard in any dialogue that aims at undervaluing that Word. But in the last analysis, our conflict is not with the science teacher, or the principal, or the president of the university, or the school board. They and their staffs are not our targets. We must recognize that they are tools of Satan, and our quarrel is with him.
How do we protect ourselves and our children from his advances? By teaching them reverential trust in God and reverence for His Word. “Thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up” (Deut. 6:7).
O beloved, familiarize yourself with the enemy’s methods. Steep yourself in God’s Word to protect against his wiles. Remind yourself that thus outfitted, you can be victorious every time!
