When a mortal man or woman is the source of love it is not perfect love.
Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
When the love of God is shed abroad in the heart of a wife it goes through her heart to her husband. When the love of God is shed abroad in the heart of a husband it goes through his heart to his wife. That love flowing back and forth will create a great marriage. Marriages without the love of God flowing back and forth freely are often headed for disaster. Marriages with only one Christian have the love of God flowing only one way. One-sided love does not work as well as two sided love. Marriages where neither mate is a Christian have an almost certain unhappy ending.
2 Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
1 John 4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
