1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, WHICH EFFECTUALLY WORKETH ALSO IN YOU THAT BELIEVE.
1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
The evidence that one is getting the sincere milk of the Word is that he lives and grows spiritually, much like babies who ingest physical food live and grow physically. Are you living and growing spiritually? The purpose for the Bible is to get the will of God done in us and in our lives. Is His will happening in you and your life?
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Is God working in you? Is He working His will in you? Are you pleasing Him? Is the Word of God effective in you or are you letting it bounce off you? Those who are not doers of the Word prevent its effectiveness and deceive themselves and others.
James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
