The salvation of God should sink deeply into our lives. Many Christians want to just wade in it like a child in shallow water. The mother of a friend told him not to get carried away with Christianity. I am glad he got carried away with it and taught me very much. If we don’t get carried away with it in this life, how can we be sure we will be carried to Heaven? God is powerful enough to take us to Heaven AND to change our lives.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
Trust God to change your life AND your eternity. The only things I regret about my salvation are the things in my life that I did not permit Him to change.
