1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity (Love) never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
Love never fails. That’s one of the greatest statements in the Word of God. Love is eternal. It will never pass away. Love never fails.
Don’t get puffed up about what you know, and don’t think you know the future. All you’ve got is an educated guess. A small child can ask questions about Heaven that nobody can answer. We know in part. We prophesy in part, but it’s time we had a little humility about some of the things we know and some of the things we don’t know. But love lasts. Love is more important than education. It’s more important than ability. It’s more important than money. It’s more important than appearances. It’s more important than prophecy. All these things are going to pass away.
The Church is to be known primarily for the Gospel we preach and the love we show. Love is the greatest virtue. Jesus said love is the greatest commandment. To fail to love is to break the greatest commandment. How can you make loving others a priority in your life? What are the ways you struggle to love others? Who are the people that are hardest to love? Love someone sacrificially today and thank God for the lasting love He has given to you.
