Romans 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
Luke 6:27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, 35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Though the crowds that followed Jesus included enemies, He cared about them.
Job’s tormenters were told to repent and offer burnt offerings. God said “My servant Job shall pray for you, for him will I accept” (Job 42:8). Job probably did not find it easy to pray for troublemakers. But look what happened when he prayed: “And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends; also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before”
Job’s so-called friends certainly had not behaved like friends yet God told him pray for them!” There are some people for whom it is hard to pray and care. They may be believers but they don’t act like it.
Seek out the good in someone that is troublesome to you. Start asking God to bless them. Then wait and watch for what God will do for them and for you. Let God give you an uncritical attitude. It might just be a blessing for you as well as others.
