Silence Is Golden

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

I speak idle words and wish that I hadn’t. How about you? I believe that God had a purpose for every word He put in the Bible. He has never spoken or written an idle word. He never says anything that does not need to be said. He has set a wonderful example for us. Good advice: If you can’t say anything good, helpful and wise, don’t say anything at all. Ask God to always control your tongue and words and use them for His purposes.

Ecclesiastes 5:3 a fool's voice is known by multitude of words. 10:14 A fool also is full of words:

Proverbs 10:19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! 25:11 A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God:

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
