Ephesians 4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
There are four problems of unbelievers listed in the passage: their understanding is darkened, they are alienated from the life of God, there is ignorance that in them and they have blind hearts. Mortal men, not even believers can solve those problems for unbelievers, That is the work of God. All four problems begin to be solved when they receive Christ into their hearts and begin to follow Him.. They also have a fifth problem. They are on their way to Hell. Only God can solve that one too.
Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Proverbs 3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
