Believers are God’s workmanship in ways that unbelievers are not. Unbelievers are not yet His workmanship because they have not yet asked Him to do His work in them.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 FOR IT IS GOD WHICH WORKETH IN YOU both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
The first work He does in us is to purify our hearts. Then His work changes our thoughts, words, actions and our entire lives.
Acts 15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, PURIFYING THEIR HEARTS BY FAITH.
Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
God did not purify my heart and save me until I asked Him to. Neither will He purify your heart until you ask Him to. If God has not yet begun His purifying work in you ask Him to right now.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
