The World Is Upside Down

Acts 17:6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

When God saves someone, he turns them upside right. They used to be upside down along with the world. Now they learn that the world is upside down. They learn that they used to be upside down too. They learn that all sin is evil, whereas they used to think that some sin was good. God teaches them right from wrong in ways that they couldn’t learn before. We used to be going downward away from God spiritually but He turns us around so we go upward toward Him. When we turn to God at the same time we turn away from sin. If we have not turned away from sin, we have not truly turned toward God.

1 Thessalonians 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; 9 ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
