If you are saved, one of God’s purposes for saving you was that you would serve Him and He made you a new person who would serve Him instead of self and sin. He even planned ahead of time the good works you would do as you serve Him. We are not saved by good works. We are saved FOR good works.
1 Thessalonians 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
If you are not doing anything for the Lord you may not yet be His workmanship. You might still have to ask Him to go to work on you and your life.
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
