I have the best job in the world, giving people the word of God, the Bible. It is the most necessary book in existence. It is my treasure. The more I share it the more I see what it accomplishes. It is God’s book. It is His only book. It conveys His power. It is his tool of choice to impact the children of men.
Job 23:12: Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
The Bible is more important and necessary than food. Our food keeps us alive and functioning for up to 100 years. But the can give us life that lasts forever. For most of my life I did not value the word of God. Since I gave my heart to the Lord the Bible has become increasingly important to me. It needs to be important to you as well. The loftier the place you give the Bible in your life, the loftier will be your life and your relationship with the Lord and the greater will be your enjoyment of all things.
The Bible is unique among books.
It has the authority of God.
It has the power of God.
It is a gift from God.
It is the perfect book.
It is the only book that will cause a relationship between man and God.
It is the most logical of books.
It is the most useful book.
It is the best guide for life, particularly in the proverbs.
It would be preposterous if any other book laid claim to the things the Bible says about itself. Reading it, hearing it, believing it and obeying it are the wisest and most important things any man, woman or child can do. We are very foolish if we do not give it a prominent place in our life.
