Before I Received Jesus 2

Before I received Jesus I was often disturbed by Christians. I avoided them and often insulted them. I did not want their God running my life. I wanted to run it myself. I wanted my own will, not His. Receiving Jesus is a surrender to Him and His will. He made me understand that I needed His work on me. I needed Him to make me the person He wanted me to be doing what He wanted me to do.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Now some unbelievers treat me the way I used to treat believers. That is evidence that I now willingly belong to God. Receiving Jesus is a surrender to Him. Not surrendering to Him is not surrendering to His authority. Surrender to Him should become our way of life, daily, hourly and moment by moment.

Once we have Him running our lives, we can never be satisfied with running them ourselves. He knows best what kind of person we need to be and what we need to do. When we please our Creator we ourselves are given satisfaction we cannot have in any other way. Being like Him means that we will be doing what Jesus does. No one and nothing can satisfy us like our Creator can.

Psalms 17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

John 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
